Haircuts for a Good Cause

The girls got major hair cuts yesterday.  I cut my hair pretty short about 6 months ago and ever since, Emery has been talking about and asking to cut her hair short.  I started talking to her about donating her hair so that those people and kids who are sick and need wigs can benefit from it.  Emery was all for it!  Then I measured Paisley's hair and realized she had met the 8 in minimum so I decided to chop her hair off too!

Emery's long, thick beautiful hair before...
Paisley's long hair (that so badly needed a cut since it's much thinner than Emery's)
After!  Emery loves her hair so much.  When the first cut was made, her eyes got a little teary - Emery claims it was because hair was in her eyes, but I don't buy it.  Luckily, that was the only emotional part and Emery loves the short hair.  As soon as we got home, she ran straight to the bathroom to check herself out.
Paisley's after - she likes it, but I don't think it's as big of a deal for Paisley.

The proceeds that will be donated.

Halloween Fun

As always, we had a great Halloween with lots of events leading up to the big day.

We went to a little Halloween event at my work and Paisley had her face painted
Grandma Phyllis had her annual Halloween party .. the girls painted their pumpkins

Haven hung out and tolerated her lady bug costume
 Doc McStuffins and a Mermaid
 We carved pumpkins
Here is Paisley thinking she is freezing at Emery's school parade.  It was chilly (the parade was at 9a), but trust me, it wasn't that cold - silly girl!
Emery being so proud in her Mermaid costume
After school, I invited Emery's friends from school over for a play date ... we had a house full of girls!
A little craft time with the girls ..
My girls getting ready to go Trick or Treating

We were out for MAYBE 45 minutes and by the end, Ivan ended up carrying Emery and Paisley.  Emery couldn't wait to get home to hand out candy to all of the "children" as she says.

August Wrap Up

Haven relaxing after a bath..
Emery did this glue practice project at school.  It made me laugh because I am certain other kids probably completed the page but because Emery is so particular and wants things perfect, she only finished 3 rows.  We have since finished it at home.
I am trying to keep naps going with Paisley.  She gets up around 715a so she needs naps and I need nap time too.  She probably naps 4 times per week - on this day, she decided to go through all of the 2T clothes I had already packed away.  Lucky for me, she is good about cleaning up messes like this.
I am finally to the point of being able to get out of the house on my own with the 3 girls.  The transition to 3 kids has been much harder than the transition from 1 to 2.  It stinks that it took my entire maternity leave to get to this point, but luckily I am only working part time so I have time for fun with the girls.  We made a trip out to the Children's Museum.
Cuddles for the girls..
If you look closely at this picture, you will see a looonnnggg piece of floss.  The girls had a dentist appt a couple of weeks ago and are now obsessed with flossing.  I will admit, we are great with brushing but have some opportunities with flossing daily.  Both girls did good and walked out cavity free!
We went on a family walk and Paisley decided she needed gloves and a beanie in case it snowed.  For the record, it is still 95+ here right now - silly girl.
 Ready for our walk
A pic taken by Paisley
Emery loves cuddling with Haven.  She also tells me daily that she loves Haven a little more than anyone else in the family (myself included) because she is so tiny and so cute.
Haven at 11p one night ... I think she likes to be up a little late because the big girls are in bed and she can enjoy some peace and quiet
We were trying to get in one last pool day but the weather didn't cooperate.  Instead we took a trip to Chuck E Cheese.
Then the girls enjoyed their treats from their tickets - Fun Dip!
And then crashed on the couch in the middle of family movie night.

August Pictures

Haven finally fell asleep out of my arms - I just had to keep her in the wrap I was wearing her in ..
Emery loves her little sister so much ..
Paisley in her element - kindle, headphones and sucking on those dang fingers!
Ivan took the girls camping for 2 nights .. this was the day they got home - Paisley fell asleep in our bed while watching TV - safe to say they had a great and exhausting time camping.
I took the girls to the park to run off some energy while Haven took a nap ..
Emery is getting Haven hooked on the laptop and games early ..
Paisley loves to climb into Haven's crib and play with her.  I have to continue to remind her that she can't pick Haven up, or cover her face up with blankets.  Ummm... it may just be that I have to tell her these things because she's done them before - ooops!
Morning cuddles and cartoons in our bed ..
Haven LOVES the Ergo carrier I got .. I'm kind of sad I didn't have one with the girls, but I'm sure getting my money's worth with Haven ..
Paisley's outfit for the day .. she really likes to wear slippers :)
Paisley helping me with dishes ... she loves to help clean, vacuum and do laundry
Haven doing what she does best - just being adorable!
 Haven's first In N Out gear ..

 Lovies ..
This picture made me laugh!  Our house is so loud with Emery and Paisley, I feel like Haven can never get a decent nap in.  This shows how Haven just wants to be left alone every once in a while haha!
Cottonwood Heights has three Movies in the Park events each summer.  We made it to two of the three this year and they were awesome.  Bouncy houses, animal show and a movie in the grass - all for free too!

We took a family trip to the zoo ..
Emery playing Dr to Paisley's scratch on her leg.
Haven's first bottle - Emery couldn't wait to help feed her!
Emery was complaining of her ear hurting so I took her to the pediatrician.  I thought she had an ear infection, but it turns out, she had a wad of cotton stuck in her ear.  After the diagnosis, Emery admitted to putting the cotton in her ear a couple of weeks earlier - silly girl!
 My cute girls!
Ivan brought home donuts from the newly opened Dunkin Donuts!  He knows exactly how to make his girls happy!
Morning cuddles/cartoons in bed
Just being cute
Finally able to capture a smile on camera .. this is Haven at 5 weeks old ..
Paisley was nursing her baby doll ..  she will kill me in 10 years for posting this picture!
We painted our kitchen cabinets two weeks before my due date with Haven.  Well, she decided to join us a week early, so we were still finishing the kitchen when I went into labor.  It's sad to say, but I still have not put my baking stuff back in the cabinets - here they are in bags in Haven's room.  Paisley found the chocolate chips and got herself a little snack.  She was not happy when I caught her ..
Here she is yelling at me to "Go AWAY!"
And then trying to hide from me ..
 Haven's one month picture ... I can't believe she's already a month old!
Emery is such a good helper
I took the big girls to a Popsicle's in the Park event for Emery's school and Ivan stayed home with Haven .. this is how I found them when we got home ..
They both dressed themselves for the day ..
Me and my girls - love!!
Emery and I went on a Mommy/Daughter date to pick out an outfit for her first day of kindergarten.  She's got a lot of opinions already - she was so proud of the outfit she picked out.  Looks like I am now shopping at Justice for her - I'm not ready for that ..
We had lunch together on our date ..
Emery saw the Barbie poster at Walmart and wanted to snap a picture with her - sure, whatever you'd like Emery!
A girls trip to the Aquarium ..
Haven napped in her car seat the entire time ..
We had a PB&J in bed dinner one night - hey, you do what you can with 3 little ones ..
Emery has already learned to multi task
Homemade pizza's for lunch were a hit!
Haven loves laying in her crib looking at her bear ..
A trip to the library ...  Emery is so focused!
Paisley loves her baby doll and takes over Haven's baby gear on a regular basis ..
