New Years Eve Celebrations

We had a quiet evening at home celebrating New Years Eve but it wa perfect!  We had a family dinner, made our traditional clock cookies and toatsted to the New Year with sparkling cider at 9p.  Everyone was in bed by 10p and except for Haven, everyone got to sleep in on New Year's Day.  Our family had an amazing 2013 with so many good times and the addition of Haven to our family.  I can't wait for the good times that will come in 2014!

PS - I finally figured out how to post pictures from my phone and since I take 100% of my pictures with my phone, the blog will finally make a come back!

Christmas Celebrations 2013

We had a great time celebrating Christmas this year.  Here is a recap of all of the activities we did ..

The girls got plasma cars from Santa.  Our new wood floors are softer than I thought they would be, so the girls have to ride them in the master bath until it's warm enough to ride them outside.

Santa also got the girls a pony - crazy Santa!
We decorated cookies Christmas night - the girls had a blast!

Haven tried her hardest to sneak a bite of Auntie Silvie's cookie.
Christmas Eve night after Santa visited.

Haven is getting so big - and teething so everything goes into her mouth and she is drooling like crazy.

Emery ended up sick with a horrible cold and fever.  She spent all of Christmas Eve in bed resting and sleeping.  On Christmas morning, she was up opening presents and playing for maybe 3 hrs.  Then she crashed and was back to bed and resting for the rest of the day.  Poor girl has been sick more in the last 4 months since starting school than she has been in her entire life.

Emery had a Holiday program at school.  While I didn't get any good pictures, she was cute and the songs the kindergartners sang were adorable!

Annual trip to the Polar Express train ride in Heber.

I bought this Ergo carrier before I had Haven.  I don't do any baby wearing with Emery or Paisley but it has been awesome with Haven.  She loves it and it makes activities so much easier for me.  Haven took a good nap in the carrier while we were on the train.

Grandma Phyllis joined us for the train ride.

Annual trip to Festival of Trees.

This bubble activity is a hit every year.  I think each of the girls did it at least 5 times.

They both got to call the North Pole to talk to one of Santa's elves to tell them what they want for Christmas.

Haircuts for a Good Cause

The girls got major hair cuts yesterday.  I cut my hair pretty short about 6 months ago and ever since, Emery has been talking about and asking to cut her hair short.  I started talking to her about donating her hair so that those people and kids who are sick and need wigs can benefit from it.  Emery was all for it!  Then I measured Paisley's hair and realized she had met the 8 in minimum so I decided to chop her hair off too!

Emery's long, thick beautiful hair before...
Paisley's long hair (that so badly needed a cut since it's much thinner than Emery's)
After!  Emery loves her hair so much.  When the first cut was made, her eyes got a little teary - Emery claims it was because hair was in her eyes, but I don't buy it.  Luckily, that was the only emotional part and Emery loves the short hair.  As soon as we got home, she ran straight to the bathroom to check herself out.
Paisley's after - she likes it, but I don't think it's as big of a deal for Paisley.

The proceeds that will be donated.

Halloween Fun

As always, we had a great Halloween with lots of events leading up to the big day.

We went to a little Halloween event at my work and Paisley had her face painted
Grandma Phyllis had her annual Halloween party .. the girls painted their pumpkins

Haven hung out and tolerated her lady bug costume
 Doc McStuffins and a Mermaid
 We carved pumpkins
Here is Paisley thinking she is freezing at Emery's school parade.  It was chilly (the parade was at 9a), but trust me, it wasn't that cold - silly girl!
Emery being so proud in her Mermaid costume
After school, I invited Emery's friends from school over for a play date ... we had a house full of girls!
A little craft time with the girls ..
My girls getting ready to go Trick or Treating

We were out for MAYBE 45 minutes and by the end, Ivan ended up carrying Emery and Paisley.  Emery couldn't wait to get home to hand out candy to all of the "children" as she says.

August Wrap Up

Haven relaxing after a bath..
Emery did this glue practice project at school.  It made me laugh because I am certain other kids probably completed the page but because Emery is so particular and wants things perfect, she only finished 3 rows.  We have since finished it at home.
I am trying to keep naps going with Paisley.  She gets up around 715a so she needs naps and I need nap time too.  She probably naps 4 times per week - on this day, she decided to go through all of the 2T clothes I had already packed away.  Lucky for me, she is good about cleaning up messes like this.
I am finally to the point of being able to get out of the house on my own with the 3 girls.  The transition to 3 kids has been much harder than the transition from 1 to 2.  It stinks that it took my entire maternity leave to get to this point, but luckily I am only working part time so I have time for fun with the girls.  We made a trip out to the Children's Museum.
Cuddles for the girls..
If you look closely at this picture, you will see a looonnnggg piece of floss.  The girls had a dentist appt a couple of weeks ago and are now obsessed with flossing.  I will admit, we are great with brushing but have some opportunities with flossing daily.  Both girls did good and walked out cavity free!
We went on a family walk and Paisley decided she needed gloves and a beanie in case it snowed.  For the record, it is still 95+ here right now - silly girl.
 Ready for our walk
A pic taken by Paisley
Emery loves cuddling with Haven.  She also tells me daily that she loves Haven a little more than anyone else in the family (myself included) because she is so tiny and so cute.
Haven at 11p one night ... I think she likes to be up a little late because the big girls are in bed and she can enjoy some peace and quiet
We were trying to get in one last pool day but the weather didn't cooperate.  Instead we took a trip to Chuck E Cheese.
Then the girls enjoyed their treats from their tickets - Fun Dip!
And then crashed on the couch in the middle of family movie night.
