March Catch Up

I'm trying really, really hard to get back to blogging.  Slowly but surely, maybe it will happen?  Here's a recap of March 2014 and all of the events, activities and crazy things the girls did.

Oh, and according to Photobucket, I ONLY took 1.3k pictures in March, so it'll be easy as pie to keep up with the blog, right!  HAHA!

We enjoyed a trip to the zoo - it was cool so we bundled up.  But the good thing about the zoo when it's cool, the animals are outside and the zoo isn't crowded.  My favorite time to go!

Emery had a Grandparent's Breakfast at school and Grandma Phyllis and Grandma Lola both went.  Emery loves school and wants to participate in every activity that the school has.  I love that she's loving school already.
Emery apparently has a boy (or two, keep reading), that likes her at school. Her first love note and this one is from Daniel. I'm totally not ready for love notes or crushes!
What it looks like when Mama is trying to get ready for the day.  We have a 2k sq ft home, yet everyone hangs out in the smallest area all the time.  I guess it's a good thing that we like to be together.

Cute little Paisley gave up naps right before she turned 3.  Depending on the day and what we have been doing, she sometimes sneaks in a little cat nap in the car.  Love that she fell asleep with her book and sunglasses.
We took a trip to the Natural History Museum of Utah while they were having a Chocolate Exhibit.  Ivan and the girls had a great time - they love to explore and learn.  It's not so much my thing.  I did enjoy spending time with my family though.

Emery had an activity at school to practice reading new words.  It started with a list of 5-7 words, which was easy for her and she new the words the same day she brought the list home.  Over time, this is the list of words she was practicing.  She's so smart!
A little early morning game of Go Fish while Haven was sleeping and Emery was at school.

Have I mentioned that I love my Ergo carrier? And this cute little baby of mine!

Just a random cute picture of my girls...

A night where Haven was refusing to go to bed and wanted a little one-on-one time with Mama

St. Patrick's Day crafts - a rainbow out of froot loops - it's a family tradition now.

Emery made her very first leprechaun trap ...

While she didn't CATCH a leprechaun, the leprechaun did leave treats for the girls

I volunteered in Emery's class on St. Patrick's day.  They went on a little scavenger hunt for a leprechaun and found a bucket of gold (chocolate coins of course).  Here's her class picture from the day.

I tried to go all out this year and make an all green dinner - chicken, alfredo, pasta and green beans.  Haven and Paisley loved it, Emery and I were both grossed out by the look/color, but we ate it.  I think I'll not attempt an all green dinner next year ..

We had just gotten the movie Frozen and both girls are mesmerized by it .. We love that movie!  and the soundtrack!

Remember the little love note from above from Daniel - this one's from Aiden - two boys have crushes on Emery.  Stay away boys!!

Playdate with the neighborhood girls - they have such a good time together and they all play together so nicely.  We are lucky to have lots of kids the same ages as the girls in our neighborhood.

Sneaking in a catnap after a play date.
I probably have 1k pictures of Haven in the bath.  She just makes me so happy!

Makayla came to visit on her Spring Break - we took a road trip to St. George.  This is just as we are pulling out of the driveway for a 4 hr road trip.

Almost there .. don't they all look THRILLED!!!

We did a lot of swimming ...

Went bowling ...

More swimming ..

We found a little city splash park one day after lunch.  If we had known it was there, the girls would have been in their swimsuits ..

But Ivan was there to do what Papa's do - "encourage" the kids to get in the water anyway.  Paisley did love it by the way and it wasn't really her being tortured like it may look in the picture.

Road trip back home.  The drive home is always the hardest but we survived it and had a great time in St. George.

Whew!  That's the month of March in a nutshell.  No wonder I'm always tired and have no time to update the blog!  Well, one month down, let's see if I can do an April catch up in the next week or 2 to keep it going.

If anyone still reads this blog, and has any advice on how to keep up with a blog when life is just crazy busy, please send your suggestions my way!

Haven - Months 1-6 Catch Up

Wow!  Haven is already 6 months old - I cannot believe it.  Since I'm doing 6 months at once, I'll do my best to capture milestones for the last 6 months - haha, who am I kidding!  I barely know what I did yesterday, let alone what happened 6 months ago.

1 Month Old -
8.38 lbs - 27th percentile
Things went great the first month - Haven was eating good and sleeping OK - she really liked to be held and cuddled and didn't like it if she wasn't in someone's arms.  Therefore, I started co-sleeping - something I never thought I'd do.  But, she wouldn't sleep anywhere else, so co-sleeping was what worked.

2 Months Old -
11.9 lbs - 71st percentile
22.9 in - 66th percentile
Around 5 weeks, things started to get a little rough.  Up to this point, I had been breastfeeding and Haven was gaining weight.  We ended up hitting a point where she wanted to be attached to me and feeding ALL OF THE TIME.  Haven just wasn't a happy baby and I wasn't a happy mom.  I needed ME time, I needed time with just the big girls and none of that was happening.  I ended up going to 100% formula and within just a few days, our happy Haven (and happy mom) was back.  She started sleeping better and we transitioned Haven into her crib in her room.  Haven was eating 6 oz bottles every 3-4 hrs and sleeping through the night.  Life was getting back to a normal state :)
3 Months Old -
I went back to work when Haven was 2 1/2 months old and by the time she was 3 months old, we all started to get into a decent routine.  We all needed some type of a routine.  Haven was a happy baby, still eating 6 oz bottles every 3-4 hrs.  She was awake for about 2 hours and then ready for a nap for 2-3 hrs.
4 Months Old -
15.32 lbs - 84th percentile
24.72 in - 68th percentile
Happy, happy baby!  Haven pretty much goes along with the flow all the time.  Loves to watch her big sisters do anything and everything.  She started to roll from back to tummy but would get frustrated since she couldn't get herself back to her back.  Still eating 6 oz bottles and sleeping through the night.
5 Months Old -
Perfecting rolling from back to tummy - starting to sit up unassisted.  Starting to get her two bottom teeth.
5 Months Old -
17.31 lbs - 75th percentile
25.98 in - 58th percentile
Sitting up on her own - two bottom teeth are completely in.  Drooling like crazy.  Reaching for anything and everything and whatever she gets her hands on - goes right into her mouth.
